Growing isn’t just about growing food or plants, we believe it’s about personal and community growth too. We all need to regenerate ourselves occasionally. It helps us to cope with challenges we face but also helps to build resilience.
Getting outside is just one of the ways we can do this, whether walking, going for a bike ride or gardening. Our growing club offers an opportunity to get outside and is a great way to volunteer.
Run at Wishtree, you will be amongst the trees and wildlife and be able to learn new and innovative growing techniques, permaculture design, and traditional rural skills.
The club aims to help anyone who wants to get in touch with others or to promote good mental health, whilst learning and sharing skills. The club runs once a week on a Thursday from 10 – 1pm. It is open to anyone 0 to 100.
We are working with our local medical practice, offering Social Prescription to individuals to support their mental wellbeing. We offer people the opportunity to attend the group as part of this service or on an individual basis, giving one to one support.
Appropriate clothing and footware is recommened. Tools are provided. On occasions we may provide lunch at a small fee, otherwise please provide your own food and water for day.
